Do you feel that you’re spending too much time at work and there must be more to life? There are always options and choices we can make. We just need to figure out what they are. Find out which area of your life needs attention and focus on that first and see how great your life could be.

The amount of angst you carry with regards to your work can literally be debilitating whether you’re an employee or the boss. Numerous surveys and studies confirm that occupational pressures and fears are far and away the leading source of stress for American adults and that these have steadily increased over the past few decades.

There’s really more to life than work alone and how do you get it? I would like to suggest that you consider the fact that your life and your work can be and should be one and the same. That concept may take a moment to sink in for many of us. The stronger you dislike your present work situation, the more you may want to disagree with that statement.

While you separate your lives from work you make one of them bad and the other one good. In one way or another we often feel guilty if we spend too much time at work and neglect our lives, and vice-versa.

If your belief is that you must labor and toil to live, then you are cutting yourself off from a deep and satisfying opportunity to express yourself as a creative, giving, and intelligent contributor to every facet of your life and the lives of everyone you associate with.

Certainly if you would look closely our work is one of the greatest opportunities for expressing our reason for being. Never before in the history of the world has there been a greater confluence of circumstances perfectly aligned to support and encourage the individual to monetize their own gifts and talents.

Stop complaining about everything you don’t like about your present work situation. Stop associating with people who always complain about their present work situation. While we may not be able to change our environment, we can change our response to it.

The first step to changing your life is to change the people you are around with. Often leaving the negative situation is not enough in itself. You need to find ways to fuel positive energy. This may be a simple task for some, but others are so engrossed in their negative thoughts it is hard to find that path to contentment.

Take it from Napoleon Hill “Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you’re ready or not, to put this plan into action.” If you aren’t, getting what you want out of life then it is time to try something new. You need a new attitude, a new strategy or a new goal. Life is full of amazing opportunities, but you’ll never know if you don’t reach out and proactively pursue more of what you truly want. Life just doesn’t give up all its treasures without a fight.
